Hotel Bathrooms Vdara Las Vegas

Toilet Talk: Hotel Bathrooms

You rarely see reviews of bathrooms or closets at hotels.

But they are key parts of the travel experience. After all, those rooms are where we prep for the day — clean-up after sweaty trips, glow-up for a night out, and keep our intestinal system working properly so we can enjoy our travels. (How is that for a polite way of saying “poop and pee?”)

I have three fave lavoratories:

  • The Bryant Park Hotel in New York City has some bathrooms with windows, so you can prep your face with natural light. Just remember to close the blinds if you’re facing an office building.
  • The Vdara in Las Vegas (an MGM Hotel) is smoke- and casino-free, which is why I like it. My bathroom during my latest stay had both a tub and shower. If I don’t want to get my hair wet or simply soak after a late night, it’s ideal!
  • The Encore Boston Harbor (a Wynn Hotel) has its own little box of toiletries. I have a thing for shower caps, so that’s always a nice touch, especially since so many hotels have cut back on amenities.

I’ve stayed in hotels with bathrooms so tiny that you practically fall into the toilet when you turn around from brushing your teeth. Older hotels may be quaint and cozy, but not always spacious.

So, if daily hygiene is a priority for you, make sure your accommodations are well-equipped. Where you “go” can be as important as where you stay.
