Meet Stacey Iskovitz, Mentor and Travel Agent at Key to the World Travel

Stacey is the go-to planner for Disney vacations. But her skills and knowledge extend way beyond the Magic Kingdom! We recently sat down with her to find out more about what a travel agent does these days and her pro tips for bleisure living.

With the rise in online booking and DIY travel planning, why do people still work with travel agents?

As a travel agent, I offer invaluable expertise and personalized service and troubleshoot if clients have issues during travel. While technology has made travel information more accessible, it hasn’t replaced the human touch and specialized knowledge, I don’t charge my clients, so they get concierge service and years of expertise from someone who understands their personal needs for any destination.

I know you specialize in Disney Vacations. If someone has to go to Orlando for business, do you have any suggestions on incorporating family fun without impacting work productivity?

You have to plan well to maximize family enjoyment while maintaining work productivity.

  • Plan Ahead: When possible, schedule your trip to coincide with a weekend or extend your stay by a few days.
  • Stay at a Disney resort, so your family can enjoy play while you work. But be sure they have the business services you need (wi-fi, shipping, etc.).
  • Change your work hours, if possible, so you can work early mornings or late nights and still spend fun time with your family.

What if you leave your family at home?

  • Disney World now has restaurants that cater to adults, like Victoria & Alberts, California Grill, and Le Cellier. Epcot has fine wines and craft beers. Check for seasonal festivals too. Themed bars and lounges are throughout the property, and Disney Springs has a vibrant nightlife.
  • Get your swing on at one of the many championship golf courses throughout the area.

You also plan international trips. What do you suggest for Bleisure Living abroad?

Be sure to talk to colleagues who’ve been to those places to get their advice AND

  • Ensure your passport is up-to-date and check entry and visa requirements. Wait times can be long these days for passports.
  • Check with your phone carrier about international roaming options.
  • Buy an Air Tag, which can be invaluable in tracking checked bags.

What’s your favorite place to travel?

I visited Disney World almost yearly growing up and was there more than 40 times before I was 30. I now go there with my kids, as well as to Aruba, which is our family’s favorite seaside retreat. Any beach works for me!
