Perfect Portland: A Bleisure Living Weekend

Dion Vineyard

I’m fortunate to work for a company that honors Veterans by actually taking the day off…and what else would I do with a 3-day weekend than take a great vacation to a place on my short list: Portland! For Bleisure Living travelers this well-connected city, full of nice hotels, co-working spaces, and cool coffee shops provides the perfect escape with a big city vibe and amazing wine country close by.

My recommendations…

The Stay: Moxy Portland has a fun, yet nice vibe, and for Marriott elites the late checkout is so appreciated after a night out. It has a fun lobby, with plenty of chargers, quiet corners to work and award-winning bartenders and free check-in drinks!

The Scene: A short walk from the hotel sits Scooter Mcquade’s which is open till 2:30 AM, even on weeknights! Perfect for a nightcap after a long remote-work day. It’s casual, yet full of professionals and fun!

The Sips: After the work-week, stay an extra day and play as less than 45 minutes from the hustle and bustle of the city sits world-class vineyards. We started at the stunning Dion Vineyard a small place where we drank a beautiful flight of reds and whites and then headed to Ardiri for breathtaking views and a lovely fireside wine tasting full of details.

The Sweets: No visit to Portland would be complete without a delicious treat from St Honore Boulangerie which invited me to sample  some of the best baked goods in town.

So my dear Bleisure Living readers… when the chance comes…make the trip to Portland! You won’t regret it.
