Toth is an international speaker and the best-selling author of Feel at Home: Home Staging Secrets for a Quick and Easy Sell.  We asked her about the connection between staging and travel (which she does often).

You have vastly different travel styles…tell us what Bleisure Living you enjoy?

“I regularly speak at conferences, and whenever I’m in any of those cities I try to find something fun to do. On the other hand, being able to mostly work remotely has meant many national park trips this year where I’ll hike in the morning, work during the day, and enjoy more nature at night!”

What advice do you have for people who stay in hotels?

“Visual appeal is everything: Put your items away in closets, cabinets, and drawers to prevent clutter build up. I like to add some personal touches like family photos or a beautiful flower arrangement to liven up the space.”

What else matters to you when you travel?

“Sound is important to me! I build a serene atmosphere with a portable Bluetooth speaker to play calming music or nature sounds to help me be more productive. Scents are also extremely important, and I know can transform a space. I’ll pack my favorite scented candles or essential oils such as lavender or eucalyptus oil, which turn any room, even a National Park motel into a spa-like retreat. Speaking of spa, if my time allows, I’ll even take advantage of the hotel’s spa treatments or draw a bubble bath in the room to unwind after a long day of work.”

You like to create your own mini-bar. What’s that about?

“I stock my room with my favorite drinks and snacks. If available, order room service for breakfast in bed or a late-night snack to pamper your taste buds. Hungry travel is bad for both business and leisure!”

What’s a comfort item you won’t leave without?

“I never forget to pack a cozy travel blanket or pajama set for comfort.”

Anything else you’d like to add?

“Yes! Read more about me at ToriToth.com.”
