With more businesses operating remote or hybrid, employees crave in-person collaboration.  Team-building activities spark creativity and increase productivity.  Endless win-wins and easier than ever to incorporate into our bleisure lives.

Here are six easy ways bleisure leaders can boost health and wellness for people and the planet:

  1. Embrace “sober curious.” This wellness trend is driven by party-goers who want all the cocktail fun, none of the booze.  Plan your happy hour with various mocktails or host at a sober bar.
  2. Choose alternative accommodations. Small team trip?  Try glamping, B&B, or boutique hotel.  A little effort makes a bigger local economic impact and a more memorable experience.
  3. Get dirty.  Many local environmental groups offer easy-to-plan, hands-on volunteering, from community garden clean-ups and trail maintenance to home repair and more.  No experience is required; they provide the gloves.
  4. Get moving.  Do your brainstorming exercise on the trail. Start the day with yoga or a sunrise walk.  End the day with a boxing class or archery lesson.  Incorporating physical activities, accessible to all and judgment-free, reinforces your commitment to health and wellness.
  5. Change the scenery.  Why host strategy meetings in blah conference rooms?  Try the local museum, park pavilion, riverboat, or zoo.  An inspiration win-win!
  6. Pick One Must-Do.  If options, time, or money are limited, pick one meaningful activity and request 100% participation.  Bring a reusable water bottle. Use mass transit or rideshare only.  Forego or reduce a team expense and donate those funds to a local charity.
