“Would you like to stay in Nyack as my guest?” asked the amazing and warm Christine Zipparo, who works for the Hotel Nyack and heard about this website from a colleague.
“Hmmm…” I thought. I had been to or through Nyack once or twice when I lived in Westchester and knew it to be a cool little historic river town. I was driving from Boston to Long Island and figured I could use a rest stop and good night’s sleep en route.
But one glance at the website, and I was IN!
Located in a former factory, this boutique hotel had everything this woman needed for working and playing. My suite even had a conference/dining table. (I could have invited three more Bleisure Living buddies!)
The funky little desk got my creative juices flowing, and I sprawled on the giant leather (or leather-like) sofa to relax with my guilty little pleasure — reality TV shows.
A well-equipped gym, a pool (which seemed to get sun at all hours), free coffee in the AM, and a fantastic and cozy restaurant/bar (which has special events most nights) all made Hotel Nyack truly feel like a “home away from home.”
My sleep quality (as measured by my Oura ring) was nearly perfect. Black-out shades and quiet hallways did the trick!
If I still lived in New York, I would host all my business and social events and meetings there. And maybe escape for a staycation sometimes. (Remember that pool!)
The conference spaces were warm and flexible. The hotel is about 15-30 minutes from most places in Westchester and Connecticut. You can also Uber to the train in Tarrytown (just across the bridge) and be in Manhattan pretty quickly. Unlike many other suburban hotels, Hotel Nyack has an artsy community vibe—my kind of place!
An added bonus is that it’s part of the Hyatt family, which is great for those of us who love our points! It’s the best of all worlds.
Props to Christine, who knows that the best influencers can be seasoned business travelers who have other friends and colleagues who need/love to travel.
P.S. People who know me have heard my rant about there being too few outlets in hotel rooms. That was definitely not a problem!
