Meet Ephi Maglaris: The Sweet Perks of Bleisure Living

Some people collect shot glasses or postcards. Others indulge in local cuisine. But one woman has made chocolate tasting and collection one of her favorite Bleisure Living travel pastimes.

Ephi Maglaris is our food and beverage editor. She lives a sweet life at home and on the road!

Tell us how your chocolate industry past makes its way into your Bleisure Living travel experiences

“I have a habit of finding chocolate no matter where my travels take me. You might say it is an occupational hazard. As the past Executive Director of the Fine Chocolate Industry Association, I have met the best chocolate makers and chocolatiers worldwide. So, anytime I discover chocolate from one of these chocolate artisans, it’s like running into a friend.”

Beyond chocolate, what else do you seek out on your adventures?

“Although I regularly travel with and for chocolate, I explore the world through food and love to discover the local food scene wherever I go. Whether visiting a farmers market, specialty food stores, or a local distillery, I seek out food memories when I travel.”

When did you first start embracing the Bleisure Living lifestyle?

“Bleisure living really became a way of life during Covid as I was producing webinars, writing newsletters, and hosting my Instagram Live from various Airbnb dining room tables across the U.S. and even a vintage Shasta RV from Traverse City, Michigan.”

Tell us one of your favorite destinations

Traverse City is a favorite travel destination for its natural beauty and small-town charm, which is a great change of pace from city living in Phoenix. I can immerse myself in the wonderful local food scene and regularly visit some of my chocolate peeps in the region, making it an ideal leisure destination.”
