After recently completing a transatlantic move from Arizona to London with just three suitcases and a backpack, I will now share my top tips and tricks for those of you considering a big move with Bleisure Living in mind.
- Pack light: Do you really need 5 shirts that look nearly identical? This is a great way to determine your favorite items and leave room in your new closet to purchase apparel from new destinations. As a reminder, just because items fit into a smashed suitcase doesn’t mean they’ll meet airlines strict weight requirements.
- Pack Photos: Being new in an area and knowing nobody can be quite lonely, having photos printed (not just on a phone) that you can touch and look at to remember your favorite Bleisure Living experiences is a great way to feel more like yourself again.
- Plan a Bleisure Living Getaway: Of course! Now that you have a new home airport, you may have access to nonstop flights that weren’t previously possible. Where is a place you’ve always wanted to visit that you could work remotely from and enjoy the surroundings? Having a planned getaway, whether by flight or car (or train and boat, in my case), to look forward to will absolutely help with the adjustment.
Note from the Publisher: The entire Bleisure Living team wishes Matt luck with his new home “across the pond,” and we all look forward to hearing about how he indulges in work and play in a new continent!
