Once you’ve attained a certain status in your car rental membership, you can choose your wheels when you reach your destination.
And, once home, you may be buying or leasing a new car.
Just as color psychology applies to what you wear, your hair color, and your makeup style (and even your choice of luggage), what you drive can be a window into your personality.
So, as you wander down the aisle of the Hertz President’s Club section (or other pick-your-own-car lots), consider this (based on a search of a wide range of articles about color and cars):
- Black: Means luxury and self-confidence
- Silver: A little flashy but classy
- Red: “Look at me!” (Deeper reds connote sensuality.)
- Blue: Faithful, trusting, and calm
- Brown: Down-to-earth
- Green: Well-balanced
- White: Confident, tidy, and resilient (but pearl white is a little showy)
- Yellow: Upbeat and young-at-heart
- Orange: Optimistic and uninhibited
- Grey: Sober and calm
- Neon Colors: Whoa! You definitely want to be noticed on the road
Now that you know that, you can drive your car rental agent a little nuts by specifying what car color you want (in addition to the make and model). But we don’t necessarily recommend that. These folks have a hard enough job satisfying travelers these days.
